What level is the Holistic Massage diploma course?
It is equivalent to NVQ Level 4.
What level is the Indian Head Massage certificate course?
It is equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
Can I work abroad with the MTI Holistic Massage diploma?
Every country (and in the USA, each state) has its own requirements and an MTI qualification (or qualification from any other massage training organisation) may or may not be recognised. We suggest you contact the country's Chamber of Commerce or Consulate who may be able to advise who to contact in the country concerned.
Where can I train and how much does it cost?
We accredit schools that offer MTI training in Holistic Massage and Indian Head Massage. Each school sets its own course dates, fees, etc. so please contact the relevant school(s) direct for further details. To find your nearest school, please click on the following link: http://www.massagetraining.co.uk/schools.php.
Is there a student clinic offering reduced price treatments?
No - our students organise their own clients for their case studies.
Does MTI offer intensive Holistic Massage courses over a shorter period of time?
No, and we don't recommend students doing an intensive course. Courses should be over a minimum period of 6 months (the MTI course is a minimum of 9 months part time). We believe that students need that length of time to do their case studies, grow and learn as a practitioner, have continuous feedback from the tutor, and you wouldn't get that on an intensive course. Obtaining professional insurance after doing an intensive course may also be a problem.
How many hours does the Holistic Massage course involves?
Practical massage tuition - 80 contact hours (of which 3 hours treatment of members of the public during clinic sessions supervised by the tutor.
Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology tuition - 60 contact hours
Massage theory tuition (professional issues, business practice, health & safety, ethics etc) - 25 contact hours.
Guided Learning - 300 hours. Includes massage practice/case studies recorded in a practise diary and homework assignments.
Total: 465 hours
I have a query about my exam result. Who do I contact?
Our policy is that all communication from students regarding their exams should be directed via their training centre, so please speak to your tutor. If they are unable to answer your query they will contact the appropriate person within MTI.
