The Art House, Sheffield

The human hand, enables and differentiates us from our animal counterparts. The design of the hand lends itself to complex movements and adaptations, often resulting in overuse injuries and traumas. Injuries and pathologies of the wrist and hand, may be symptomatic of issues higher up the upper extremity chain.

This workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the upper limb, focussing predominantly on the anatomy, biomechanics, and function of the limb as a whole. To fully appreciate the complexity of the upper limb, the workshop will detail the arthrokinematics of the upper extremity, by using assessment and evaluation techniques to inform treatment options.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop a more robust approach to assessment, palpation and function of the limb, by carefully considering the anatomical dynamics. The workshop will conclude with selected soft tissue techniques in the treatment and management of upper extremity pathologies and injuries, including, but not limited to, the brachial plexus and neurological considerations.

In order to attend you need to hold a recognised Massage Qualification and Anatomy & Pathology certification or be a current student of MTI.

All attendees will receive 5 CPD points and a certificate on completion of the workshop.

Tea/coffee will be provided. Participants must provide their own lunch or can pre-order lunch from the on-site cafe.

There are plenty of car parks close to the venue and it is accessible by public transport.

Places for this amazing workshop are limited and must be booked in advance! One ticket per person - please do not book tickets for other people.
