MTI Member, Debbie Wingell, will facilitate an evening of practitioner self-care outside and inside the treatment room, through yoga. Plus poses to recommend for clients' aftercare. Let us know if there is anything for which you'd particularly like to be able to give a recommendation, whether it's a stretch or a breathing technique. Or if you'd really like help with state of mind, preparing to give a massage or when you feel overwhelmed or burnt out by the emotional offloading from your clients. Or if you'd just like help with your posture during or after the massage. Debbie will be happy to tailor the evening to what you, as members, would like. DEBBIE WINGELL has been an MTI therapist for eleven years. She is not a yoga teacher, but a very enthusiastic student! She started practising yoga primarily to help settle her busy brain, and she absolutely loves it. She has a (usually) daily home practice and goes to a monthly Yin class with Sally Salmon, an amazing and inspirational Aussie who loves and lives yoga. Debbie has a particular interest in mental health; she's intrigued by how the body and mind interact, interconnect and work together, as well as the difficulties faced when things don’t all work the way they should. That interest is probably due in no small part to having lived with depression herself for over 30 years, and she now uses a variety of techniques to help keep herself as well as possible.
