After the success of last year's workshop by Nikki Morris, Deputy CEO of Norfolk-based charity, Big C, we invite you to a second workshop. This time, Nikki is joined by Big C Massage Therapist, Sarah Hewitt....... PLEASE BOOK BY 20th MARCH, if possible......... The workshop outline from Nikki:...... This will cover the common problems people present with and the common issues to be considered when working in a Cancer support centre...... Further details from Sarah:...... Issues that client face - The unknown of what is going to happen, lack of sleep, anxiety, pain and no one to help or talk to............ Issues for therapists working in a Cancer centre - Ability to show empathy towards a client. Making sure skills and knowledge in this field of work are updated for the clients. Understanding the vision of the centre and being able to support them when needed. Understanding how the centre runs and works........... We have also asked them to give information and some practical demonstration, which we, as massage therapists, can use in our private practice, either for clients with Cancer (at all stages) or recovering/recovered from Cancer and also for clients who are carers........... IF THERE ARE SPECIFIC ISSUES YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO COVER - theoretical, emotional or practical - PLEASE LET US KNOW BY 20th MARCH and we will pass it on........... (You do not need to have attended workshop 1, to attend this second one.)......... Timings for the day will be:......
