Conference: Warwick 2022
Our 2022 conference was held at the Scarman Centre, within the University of Warwick. This was our first in person event since 2019 and what a pleasure it was to connect with old and new faces again.
The theme of 2022’s conference was Working with Chronic Conditions and Rehabilitation and was opened by Jenny Burrell. In her keynote address, she inspired delegates with her story of embracing change and so called ‘set backs’ and how we can actually use them to develop and drive our business into new and prosperous territory.
We then flowed into our morning workshops which saw Body Paint Anatomy with Kate Browne, Buteyko Breathing with Gray Caws, Nutrition and lifestyle change for inflammation with Susie Willsher, MFR for chronic conditions - rehab and prehab with Craig Foden and Key principles of rehabilitation for MSK issues with Earle Abrahamson.
We enjoyed delicious food, explored the wonderful wares of the market place before heading back in to our afternoon workshops!
The afternoon sessions followed on with themes of the day with What massage therapists need to know about bone and joint chronic conditions with Earle Abrahamson, Therapeutic approaches for long covid, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue with Ruth Duncan, Post-Natal core rehab with Jenny Burrell and Yoga for massage therapists with Helena Kaill.
We finished the day with a big prize giving celebration including a Jenny Burrell Education course, signed books from Ruth Duncan and Darian Pritchard, a weighted lap pad from Intention Therapies, a Songbird starter pack and more!
We cannot express how wonderful it was for us to gather again post covid and we are looking forward to more in person MTI events - watch this space!
A big thank you to Helena (Marketing Officer) and Donna Jackson (Membership Officer) for organising the event, and to our region reps for their help and support on the day!
