Owen Lewis - Exploring the Core

Join Owen for a workshop full of discovery in this science-backed approach to understand, assess, treat and train our central anatomy. Based upon the recent publication of ‘Core’, this workshop is a chance to explore deeper concepts while gaining practical skills.

Explore the relationships of pelvis and torso. Discover when the pelvis is affecting the torso, or how a rib can affect the sacrum. Develop you skills in pattern recognition to treat the cause, without being blinkered by the symptoms. 

This course is supported by research and clinical experience. It will gives you a four dimensional appreciation of functional anatomy. A truly enjoyable and fascinating day of practical hands on assessment, treatment and training.

Learning objectives:
-Find the cause(s) of symptoms
-Describe posture and movement with a non-judgemental descriptive language
-Ask better questions
-Use outcome prediction to avoid abreactions to treatment
-Learn to use the biomechanics of the pelvis and torso 

 

Bio

Owen Lewis - clinician, educator, and writer 

A highly experienced and merited clinician and educator Owen works with an infectious enthusiasm and imagination. His implementation of the latest ideas towards a better clinical reality has taken him around the world. In his clinic, in the East of England, he takes a polymath approach to all aspects of bodywork. He works with a wide variety of patients that regularly include professional athletes, dancers and musicians.

Owen has a background in elite sport, and his education includes degrees at Undergraduate, Masters and Postgraduate level as well as a wealth of professional qualifications. Owen has been taught by some of the leading pioneers including Thomas Myers, David Tiberio and Diane Lee. A former Anatomy Trains teacher he has now teamed up with James Earls to form Born to Move.
His teaching offers a unique blend of art and science, demonstrating his passion for anatomy, biomechanics, sport, art and philosophy. His early love of sport continues to move his curiosity.
