We are delighted that Michelle Howard will be joining us to lead a Menopause workshop, as part of our next Regional Day.
The workshop will include:
*The stages and seasons of the menopause
*Understanding your own phase (or that of others) and the requirements necessary to support that phase to look after your own (and others’) health and well-being. (NB This workshop is also open to men and pre-menopausal women, to help support your clients, friends and loved ones or future self.)
*Physical, emotional and mental symptoms of the menopause and how these may show up in your clinics. ( This will be an interactive discussion in 2 groups and a diagram to fill in )
*What can we do as professionals to support our menopause clients
*Guided breathwork to help
- Hot flushes
- Rage
- Anxiety
*Face marma point massage to help calm and focus the mind, alleviate anxiety, stress, insomnia and rebalance emotions.
These are lovely to teach your clients so they can use them at home.
*Acupressure points on the stomach and back to support kidney health and balance hormones. In TCM it is believed that menopause symptoms are caused by an imbalance in the kidney meridian.
The workshop will include a small resources pack, to take away, with information about hormonal influences on symptoms, a symptom checker, diagrams and references for the pressure points.
Michelle Howard combines her 30 years’ experience in holistic therapies with five years of yoga teaching. She facilitates one to one, group yoga sessions, workshops and MY (accredited) menopause yoga classes. (From the experience of some of the regional team, Michelle feels like a wonderful wise-woman in her treatments.)
