Join us together with tutor Jennie Parke Matheson to focus on massage in a hospital or hospice setting.
This workshop is an ideal introduction for practitioners interested in working within hospital or hospice settings, whether paid or as volunteers. The first half is theoretical: we shall discuss the background, protocols and processes of a medical working environment, which may be new to practitioners in private practice. The second half is practical: We shall explore massaging all types of people, including cancer patients, the very ill, the dying - in a hospital bed, in a wheelchair, in an armchair, through ted stockings, from a stool - and how to move patients in a bed.
We will have lunch after our workshop (please bring your own lunch or buy some locally at lunchtime).
After lunch there will be time for a massage swap where you can practice techniques and make the most of having experienced massage therapists in the room!
In order to make this happen we need at least half of the attendees to bring their own massage table. Please email register@massagetraining.co.uk once you have booked to let us know whether you can bring a table or not. As a thank you for bringing along a table, we’ll give you access to an online CPD replay of your choice.
All attendees will need to bring: their own massage sheets/towels, pillows and oil. If you have a stool available it would be lovely if you could bring that along too.
