I offer a massage that is mindful and considerate ?of ‘the you’ I meet that day in amongst life's stresses and strains; In that moment, I offer safe harbour to unwind, be heard and held as we explore, through a trauma-informed approach, the root of any pain, stress, anxiety or general discomfort you're experiencing. Through consultation, guided touch and experienced intuition, we'll work together in helping you feel like the better version of yourself.
The style of the massage will remain fluid, taking a form that meets the needs and wants of your whole physical, mental and emotional interconnected being: responding to touch, tension, energy and a deeper embodied awareness (separate to our thinking mind) of what it is your nervous system wants to allow you to be at rest and feel safe. Bodies are beautifully complex, so our approach will reflect this by going beyond felt surface discomfort or pain to allow a greater systemic healing. As we access this deeper awareness of what is going on inside, we’ll work with both mind and body, acknowledging their joint role in how we hold our bodies, as we physically loosen muscular tensions and calm the nervous pathways that hold them.
My awareness of holistic wellbeing started with sports I enjoyed, namely climbing, running, cycling, swimming, and occasionally snowboarding, not only because it felt satisfying but it allowed me to mentally connect with the way my body felt. Managing injury and my own mental health eventually led me down the path of better understanding the mind-body connection and the benefits of touch therapy and mindfulness in caring for ones self. Before training to become a holistic masseur, I spent the past decade involved with the sustainable food and farming movement, working to support a change in the way we connect and engage with our food and environment.
