Roger Stimpson

My name is Roger, and before becoming a massage therapist I spent over twenty years working in project management. Like many people in professional careers, I experienced the long hours, deadlines, commuting and desk-based work that often leave you carrying tension in your shoulders, neck and back. I also understand how difficult it can be to truly switch off.
Massage had always interested me, but it wasn't until later in my career that I decided to turn that interest into something more meaningful. I retrained with the Massage Training Institute (MTI), earning my Level 4 Diploma in Holistic Massage, with one simple goal: to help people feel better through professional, personalised care.
More than just a massage
One thing you'll never receive at Studio5 is the same treatment as everyone else.
Every person who walks through the door has a different story. Some arrive carrying the physical effects of long days at a desk. Others are recovering from demanding jobs, busy family lives or sporting activities. Some simply need an hour where the outside world can wait.
That's why every appointment begins with a conversation.
I want to understand how you're feeling, what's been happening in your life and what you'd like to achieve from your treatment. Only then do we begin the massage.
A calm space where you can simply be yourself
Studio5 was created to offer something many people struggle to find today—a quiet, private space where you can slow down.
There are no busy waiting rooms, no feeling rushed between appointments and no conveyor-belt approach to treatments.
Just one client, one therapist and the time to focus entirely on you.
What my clients say
The greatest compliment I receive isn't that someone enjoyed their massage—it's that they felt listened to.
One client wrote:
"Roger really knows his stuff and makes sure to adapt his session to suit your needs that week... I walk away light as a feather."
– Tara Florey
Another said:
"He was incredibly thorough working through all the problem areas... he doesn't just do a quick 'spa style' once-over. He really gets into the knots and tension properly."
– Cat Bridges
And another shared:
"He was professional, knowledgeable and quickly identified areas of tension that needed attention. The treatment was both effective and tailored to my needs."
– Sara Chapman-Ellis
Reading those reviews reminds me why I chose this profession. They aren't simply comments about massage—they're about taking the time to listen, understand and provide care that's tailored to the individual.
That's exactly what Studio5 is built on.
My approach
Every treatment I provide is guided by the same principles:
Listen first.
Understand what matters to you.
Tailor every treatment to your needs.
Help you leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Whether you're living with muscular tension, feeling the effects of a demanding lifestyle or simply looking for time to unwind, my aim is always the same—to provide professional massage in a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable, cared for and confident you're in safe hands.
I look forward to welcoming you
Whether it's your first massage or you're a returning client, thank you for considering Studio5.
I hope to welcome you soon and help you experience the difference that thoughtful, personalised massage can make.

Cat: I had a back, neck and shoulder massage with Roger today and it was exactly what I needed. I’d been dealing with pins and needles down my arms and a really tight, cramping neck, and he was incredibly thorough working through all the problem areas. You can tell he is so passionate about it and knows what he’s doing because he doesn’t just do a quick “spa style” once-over. He really gets into the knots and tension properly. By the time I left, the pins and needles in my arms had gone and my neck already feels so much better. If you’re in Whitchurch and looking for a proper back, neck and shoulder massage rather than something rushed, I’d definitely recommend Roger. March 8, 2026
